Psalm 27 Of David.<\/p>\n
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation\u2014
\n whom shall I fear?
\nThe Lord is the stronghold of my life\u2014
\n of whom shall I be afraid?<\/p>\n
2 When the wicked advance against me
\n to devour[a] me,
\nit is my enemies and my foes
\n who will stumble and fall.
\n3 Though an army besiege me,
\n my heart will not fear;
\nthough war break out against me,
\n even then I will be confident.<\/p>\n
4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
\n this only do I seek:
\nthat I may dwell in the house of the Lord
\n all the days of my life,
\nto gaze on the beauty of the Lord
\n and to seek him in his temple.
\n5 For in the day of trouble
\n he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
\nhe will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
\n and set me high upon a rock.<\/p>\n
6 Then my head will be exalted
\n above the enemies who surround me;
\nat his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
\n I will sing and make music to the Lord.<\/p>\n
7 Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
\n be merciful to me and answer me.
\n8 My heart says of you, \u201cSeek his face!\u201d
\n Your face, Lord, I will seek.
\n9 Do not hide your face from me,
\n do not turn your servant away in anger;
\n you have been my helper.
\nDo not reject me or forsake me,
\n God my Savior.
\n10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
\n the Lord will receive me.
\n11 Teach me your way, Lord;
\n lead me in a straight path
\n because of my oppressors.
\n12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
\n for false witnesses rise up against me,
\n spouting malicious accusations.<\/p>\n
13 I remain confident of this:
\n I will see the goodness of the Lord
\n in the land of the living.
\n14 Wait for the Lord;
\n be strong and take heart
\n and wait for the Lord.<\/p>\n
Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God
\n91<\/p>\n
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
\nShall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
\n2 I will say of the Lord, \u201cHe is my refuge and my fortress;
\nMy God, in Him I will trust.\u201d<\/p>\n
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler
\nAnd from the perilous pestilence.
\n4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
\nAnd under His wings you shall take refuge;
\nHis truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler.
\n5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
\nNor of the arrow that flies by day,
\n6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
\nNor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.<\/p>\n
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
\nAnd ten thousand at your right hand;
\nBut it shall not come near you.
\n8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
\nAnd see the reward of the wicked.<\/p>\n
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
\nEven the Most High, your dwelling place,
\n10 No evil shall befall you,
\nNor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
\n11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
\nTo keep you in all your ways.
\n12 In their hands they shall [c]bear you up,
\nLest you [d]dash your foot against a stone.
\n13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
\nThe young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.<\/p>\n
14 \u201cBecause he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
\nI will [e]set him on high, because he has known My name.
\n15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
\nI will be with him in trouble;
\nI will deliver him and honor him.
\n16 With [f]long life I will satisfy him,
\nAnd show him My salvation.\u201d<\/p>\n

35 Plead[a] my cause, O Lord, with those who strive with me;
\nFight against those who fight against me.
\n2 Take hold of shield and [b]buckler,
\nAnd stand up for my help.
\n3 Also draw out the spear,
\nAnd stop those who pursue me.
\nSay to my soul,
\n\u201cI am your salvation.\u201d<\/p>\n
4 Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor
\nWho seek after my life;
\nLet those be turned back and brought to confusion
\nWho plot my hurt.
\n5 Let them be like chaff before the wind,
\nAnd let the [c]angel of the Lord chase them.
\n6 Let their way be dark and slippery,
\nAnd let the angel of the Lord pursue them.
\n7 For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit,
\nWhich they have dug without cause for my life.
\n8 [d]Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly,
\nAnd let his net that he has hidden catch himself;
\nInto that very destruction let him fall.<\/p>\n
9 And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord;
\nIt shall rejoice in His salvation.
\n10 All my bones shall say,
\n\u201cLord, who is like You,
\nDelivering the poor from him who is too strong for him,
\nYes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?\u201d<\/p>\n
11 Fierce witnesses rise up;
\nThey ask me things that I do not know.
\n12 They reward me evil for good,
\nTo the sorrow of my soul.
\n13 But as for me, when they were sick,
\nMy clothing was sackcloth;
\nI humbled myself with fasting;
\nAnd my prayer would return to my own [e]heart.
\n14 I paced about as though he were my friend or brother;
\nI bowed down [f]heavily, as one who mourns for his mother.<\/p>\n
15 But in my [g]adversity they rejoiced
\nAnd gathered together;
\nAttackers gathered against me,
\nAnd I did not know it;
\nThey tore at me and did not cease;
\n16 With ungodly mockers at feasts
\nThey gnashed at me with their teeth.<\/p>\n
17 Lord, how long will You look on?
\nRescue me from their destructions,
\nMy precious life from the lions.
\n18 I will give You thanks in the great assembly;
\nI will praise You among [h]many people.<\/p>\n
19 Let them not rejoice over me who are wrongfully my enemies;
\nNor let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.
\n20 For they do not speak peace,
\nBut they devise deceitful matters
\nAgainst the quiet ones in the land.
\n21 They also opened their mouth wide against me,
\nAnd said, \u201cAha, aha!
\nOur eyes have seen it.\u201d<\/p>\n
22 This You have seen, O Lord;
\nDo not keep silence.
\nO Lord, do not be far from me.
\n23 Stir up Yourself, and awake to my vindication,
\nTo my cause, my God and my Lord.
\n24 Vindicate me, O Lord my God, according to Your righteousness;
\nAnd let them not rejoice over me.
\n25 Let them not say in their hearts, \u201cAh, so we would have it!\u201d
\nLet them not say, \u201cWe have swallowed him up.\u201d<\/p>\n
26 Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion
\nWho rejoice at my hurt;
\nLet them be clothed with shame and dishonor
\nWho exalt themselves against me.<\/p>\n
27 Let them shout for joy and be glad,
\nWho favor my righteous cause;
\nAnd let them say continually,
\n\u201cLet the Lord be magnified,
\nWho has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.\u201d
\n28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness
